Refund Policy for the Italian Language School in Halifax, NS

The Italian Language School and the Italian Canadian Cultural Association of Nova Scotia (referred to as the “Association”)

The Italian Language School and Association recognize that circumstances change, and people may choose or need to reconsider their decision to register for Italian classes with the School. At the same time, the Italian Language School and the Association makes decisions on staffing and facilities and incurs costs based on students’ registrations. This policy is intended to provide guidance and clarity on the criteria and timelines for refunds. 

Policy Scope: This Refund Policy applies to all adult students and parents/guardians of children registered in the children. 

Policy Directives: 

Refunds will only be issued on provision of a written withdrawal notice sent to icca.language.school @ gmail.com

Notification of withdrawal must be in writing advising the Association of the student’s name, class, and reason for withdrawal. 

The official date of withdrawal is effective upon receipt of written notice. 

A minimum class size of 10 students for adult classes is required to make the learning environment interactive. If this number is not met, the school reserves the right to cancel classes and will offer a refund with no administration fee.

The school reserves the right to change class schedules or amalgamate classes at its own discretion prior to the beginning of each term. 

The Association will issue a refund for each class in which the student is registered, in accordance with the following refund policy: 

Refund Policy:

  1. No refunds will be given for missed classes.

  2. A $10.00 administration fee is applicable to process all refund requests.

  3. Refunds requested for withdrawal from classes after the start of the term are only applicable as follows, less the administration fee:

    1. Following the first week of each term of classes, full refund. 

    2. Following the second week of each term of classes, full refund less the prorated fee of two classes.

    3. Following the third week of each term of classes there will be no refunds, however, in the case of illness or extenuating circumstances, a partial credit may be applied toward future classes.
