When and where are the classes for children and high school students?

Italian language classes for children and high school students are held in-person on Saturday mornings from 10:00 am to 12:15 pm at the ICCA Building, located at 2629 Agricola Street, Halifax, NS, B3K 4C7.

When and where are the classes for adult students?

Italian language classes for adults are held on weeknights from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. In the Fall of 2024, we offer two in-person courses at the ICCA Building, located at 2629 Agricola Street, Halifax, NS, B3K 4C7. The remaining courses will be offered online via Zoom.

When do the courses start and how long is the term?

The term lasts 10 weeks.

Do Italian language students (children, high school, and adults) need to buy a textbook?

Students at any level do not need to buy a textbook. Learning materials are provided by the teachers in the form of photocopied handouts for in-person classes or digital handouts sent by email for online classes.

How much does it cost?

The enrollment fee for children and high school students is $180 per term (10 classes). A special family rate is available for families enrolling two or more siblings. This applies only to children and high school students. No HST is included in children’s student tuition.

The enrollment fee for adult students is $185 per term (10 classes), this includes HST.

How do I register for classes?

Please visit the registration page for the children’s classes or adult classes, fill out the registration form, and submit it online, and then follow the steps to pay the fees online.

  • Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Late registration is possible if the course is not full. Please contact the School Director using the form below.

  • Adult students may change classes or levels if their initial registration does not match their knowledge, or may ask to change based on the teacher’s assessment.

What are my payment options?

Payments can be made using our online system via credit card. You can also pay via e-transfer or cheque, but please note until we receive your payment and contact you that it has been received, your registration is not complete. The best option to guarantee you are registered is to pay using the online system.

  1. E-transfers (send to finance@iccans.org - and indicate the name of the student it is for and adult or children’s language classes)

  2. Cheques (made out to the Italian Canadian Cultural Association of NS and mailed to: ICCA-NS, PO Box 9044 Stn A, Halifax, NS B3K 5M7)
