When and where are the classes offered?
Italian Cooking Classes are held in-person at the ICCA Building, located at 2629 Agricola Street, Halifax, NS, B3K 4C7, with the exception of certain classes offered with a community partner and held elsewhere.
When do the courses start and how long are they?
We offer a variety of Italian Cooking Classes, which vary by time, topic and instructor. You can check each page for classes for the details here.
Classes start promptly at 6:30 pm and generally end by 8:30 pm, depending on the complexity of the dishes prepared.
How much does it cost?
The enrollment fee varies for each class depending on how many sessions and the type of food involved. HST is included in our total fees.
Do I need to bring anything?
The classes are mostly demonstrated; however, each chef-instructor will have their own approach. Specific classes will have hands-on work.
Aprons will be provided.
Do you have parking?
No. At the ICCA, there is on-street parking on Agricola Street and surrounding streets. There are two handicapped spots, one in front of our building and one across the street.
For classes held at Sapori downtown, there are a variety of paid parking lots and some on-street parking.
Is there alcohol served in these classes?
No, our Liquor license does not permit this for the classes at the Italian Club.
Participants in the pizza-making classes at Sapori Restaurant can purchase drinks from the restaurant.
Can I bring my own wine or other alcohol to drink during class?
NO. This is strictly forbidden and a violation of our Liquor License.
How do I register for classes?
Please visit the main cooking school information page, choose the class you want to register for and then follow the steps to pay the fees online.
Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Late registration is possible if the course is not full. Please contact the School Coordinator using the form below.
What are my payment options?
Payments can be made using our online system via credit card. This is the BEST way to guarantee your spot.
You can also pay via e-transfer or cheque, but please note until we receive your payment and contact you that it has been received, your registration is not complete. The best option to guarantee you are registered is to pay using the online system.
E-transfers (send to finance@iccans.org - and indicate the name of the student it is for and the specific class, dates and instructor.)
Cheques (made out to the Italian Canadian Cultural Association of NS and mailed to: ICCA-NS, PO Box 9044 Stn A, Halifax, NS B3K 5M7)
What are my refund or withdrawal options?
We do not offer refunds in general due to the high demand for classes; please ensure when registering, you double-check all dates and times.
